BRIEF VITA

Yin-ping (Daniel) Chang received his BS and MS degrees from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Sun-Yat-San University in Taiwan. Then he worked at MMC (Mitsubishi Motor Corporation) branch in Taiwan as a new-engine/vehicle development project manager with GM & Delphi (USA), Lotus (England), and Siemens (Germany). He later studied vehicle design, vehicle dynamics, tire mechanics, and computational solid mechanics at Vehicle Simulation Research Center, Pennsylvania Transportation Institute, the Pennsylvania State University, USA. He received his Ph.D. degree and continued his research as an Assistant Professor at Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan, USA, and tenured/promoted to be an Associate Professor. His current research interests include vehicle system design, vehicle dynamics, tire mechanics, FEA computational solid mechanics, biomechanics, mechanical design, mechanism synthesis and analysis, and machine dynamics.
