Flexible, Fully Funded NAIRR Training

Learn how to apply NAIRR — the national shared AI research infrastructure — to your work. These fully funded workshops are open to researchers at all experience levels, and you can register for one or many sessions. NAIRR connects U.S. researchers to high-performance compute, data, software, and AI tools to accelerate innovation. We offer 12 modular training sessions, choose one or more to register for today.

Each session is 3 hours from 11:00a - 2:00p Eastern Time.

What exactly is NAIRR?

The National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource (NAIRR) is a federally supported initiative designed to provide U.S.-based researchers and educators with shared access to the compute, data, software, and tools needed to conduct advanced AI research at scale. Rather than each institution independently securing costly infrastructure, NAIRR connects researchers to a coordinated national ecosystem of high-performance computing resources, curated datasets, AI platforms, and support services. The goal of NAIRR is to democratize access to state-of-the-art AI capabilities, enabling a broader and more diverse research community to pursue ambitious, impactful AI research across disciplines.

The NAIRR training program offers hands-on, practical workshops that guide participants through the full process of conducting AI research using NAIRR resources. Training topics include navigating the NAIRR platform, accessing and managing datasets, using national-scale computing resources, building and evaluating AI models, scaling AI workflows, and applying responsible and ethical AI practices. Each session is designed to be self-contained, allowing participants to attend individual workshops or complete the full series, and is supported by reusable instructional materials to reinforce learning beyond the live sessions.

This training is fully funded as part of the National Science Foundation’s NAIRR Pilot Expansion, which aims to ensure that the National AI Research Resource is broadly accessible and effectively used by the U.S. research community. By removing cost barriers, NSF enables researchers from institutions of all sizes and resource levels to gain hands-on experience with NAIRR’s compute, data, and AI tools.
