Gautam Singh received his B.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, in 1983, and received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, in 1993. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan. Before joining Oakland University, Gautam held a position of a Senior Scientist with the National Center for Genome Resource, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and held faculty position with Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. He conducts research in software engineering, machine learning, bioinformatics and data mining and has published over 50 papers in these research areas. Gautam has over 10 years of industry experience in software and firmware design for real time and CAD systems, and actively consults with organizations including DaimlerChrysler, Continental Teves, and Ford Motor Company. He is member of Tau Beta Pi, IEEE and ACM.
