Research Assistantship

For RA positions, I usually announce the positions on my website if they are available. In general, I hire students who did very well (top 5%) in my graduate  classes and have high intellectual interest in research in software engineering. Occasionally, I hire a student who hasn't taken my class, but did very well on a testing assignment that evaluates the student's background. I prefer hiring Ph.D. students. If you are interested in applying an RA position, you should contact me with 1) a transcript for the grades of your graduate classes, 2) GRE score, and 3) a research statement of your interest three weeks prior to the semester you want to be supported. If you are not currently enrolled at OU, you must be admitted to OU before applying an RA position.

Teaching Assistantship

For TA positions, you should apply directly to the department, not to me. I only make recommendations to the department for those who did very well (top 5%) in my classes. The final decisions are made by the department.
